Title

TN SB0012 - AN ACT to amend Tennessee Code Annotated, Title 49, Chapter 6, relative to the Tennessee Education Savings Account Pilot Program.

Description

PFPS Summary: TN SB12 expands the eligibility criteria for the state's ESA voucher "pilot" program. Students would be eligible if, in addition to meeting income and other criteria, they attend a school in an LEA with at least five schools -- instead of at least ten -- that were 1) identified as priority schools in certain years (adding 2021 to the list) or 2) among the bottom ten percent of schools, as identified by the state education department in 2017. Students zoned to attend a school that is in the Achievement School District on May 24, 2019 would also remain eligible if they meet the income and other criteria.
