SC S0285 - Providing Academic Choice in Education (PACE)

Description

PFPS Summary: SC S0285 creates a tax credit voucher program for children with disabilities, families below 400 percent of the poverty line, and all home schooled children. The voucher is equal to the average state public school per-pupil spending for low income students, 140 percent that amount for disabled children or those under 200 percent of the poverty line or qualified for Medicaid, and 20 percent of that amount for home schooled children. The program is capped at $25 million per year.
