Title

Relative to student eligibility for education freedom accounts.

Description

PFPS Summary: NH SB442 expands eligibility for the state's education savings account program to students whose family income is less than or equal to 400 percent of the federal poverty guidelines. It also extends the phase-out grant period to help public schools adjust to losing students from ESAs by three years, from July 2026 to July 2029, and directs the New Hampshire Department of Education to submit an annual report regarding program funding and costs. Additionally, the bill increases payments to public schools and provides some funding to public schools when voucher recipients enroll in some courses.
