Title
Relating generally to the Hope Scholarship Program
Description
PFPS Summary: HB4945 makes several changes to the Hope Scholarship voucher program. Notably, it changes the appropriation calculation to be based on the estimated number of participating students rather than the number of participating students in the prior year. The bill also requires parents to notify the program immediately and cease use of funds if a participating student reenrolls in a public school or graduates/completes a secondary school program. The bill authorizes the proposal of legislative rules for the auditing of education service providers. Finally, it prohibits education service providers from charging voucher families amounts in addition to the provider's regular tuition or fees.
