LA HB194 - Creates and provides for a program to provide state funding for the education of students with exceptionalities not enrolled in public school

Description

PFPS Summary: HB194 establishes an ESA program beginning in the 2023-24 school year for students with disabilities. There is no cap on the number of students who may accept a voucher under the program. Funding for each voucher is “equal to the state’s base per-pupil allocation as provided in the minimum foundation program formula, plus any applicable weighted funds based on student characteristics.” ESA funds can be used for private school tuition or other educational expenses.
