Establishes the "Show Me a Brighter Future Scholarship Act"
Description
PFPS Summary: Missouri's SB581 would create a tax credit program providing vouchers for students with total annual household income less than twice the income standard used to qualify for free and reduced-price lunch. Any taxpayer who makes a qualifying contribution to the fund may claim a tax credit equal to 100% of the total contribution. In its first year, the program will be capped at $25 million; after the first year, the cap may increase up to 10 percent per year to a maximum of $50 million.
