Creating the student empowerment act to provide an education savings account for students who are academically at-risk.
Description
PFPS Summary: HB 2119 would create a new voucher program for children who are eligible for free school lunch, receive "at-risk educational program services, or have been required by their school to receive remote or hybrid education. Vouchers are funded using state tax dollars and the funding amount is based on state per-pupil expenditures for public schools. Voucher funds could be used for private school tuition, tutoring, transportation, books, or other educational expenses.
