Title
Creates and provides for a program to provide state funding for the education of certain students who have been victims of bullying and are not enrolled in public school
Description
PFPS Summary: HB452 establishes an ESA program beginning in the 2023-24 school year for students who have been victims of two or more incidents of bullying with either no investigation or no resolution that is acceptable to the students’ parents. Students who are victims of bullying that involved sexual assault are eligible after one reported incident. There is no cap on the number of students who are eligible for a voucher under the program. Funding for each education savings account is “equal to the state’s average per-pupil allocation as provided in the minimum foundation program formula, considering all student characteristics.” ESA funds can be used for private school tuition or other educational expenses.
