Description
PFPS Summary: MO SB727 increases the cap on the amount of tax credits offered through the state's voucher program in one calendar year to $75 million and allows the state treasurer to adjust the cap each year "in an amount equal to the percent increase or decrease in the amount of state aid distributed to school districts" between the current fiscal year and preceding fiscal year. The bill also increases the size of the voucher available to students with limited English proficiency, from low-income families, and with educational disabilities to be more than the state adequacy amount available to public schools, changes how educational assistance organizations that administer the program should prioritize voucher applicants, and changes how much funding voucher students should receive based on certain student characteristics. Finally it requires the state treasurer to publish certain demographic information about voucher recipients.
