Title

Creates a literacy program for certain public school students (EN INCREASE GF EX See Note)

Description

PFPS Summary: LA HB85 establishes a voucher for public school students in grades K-3 who read below grade level, students in grades 4-5 who score below mastery on the state language arts assessment, and any student who is recommended to the program by an English teacher. The total amount of the voucher is capped at $1,000 per student per school year. The voucher can be used for electronic or digital books, instructional materials and curriculum, and tutoring services, among other purposes.
