An education scholarship tax credit; and to provide an effective date.
Description
PFPS Summary: SB 2288 would create a new tax credit voucher program. Taxpayers could receive a 75 percent tax credit for contributions made to voucher-granting organizations, which would be required to give priority to student from families below 300 percent of the federal poverty level, but all children in the state would be eligible. Tax credits would be capped at $3,000,000, and that cap would increase 10 percent annually in any year in which it is met.
