Description
PFPS Summary: Iowa Senate Bill 2369 creates a new education savings account (ESA) voucher program. Students are eligible to receive the ESA voucher if they have a household annual income less than or equal to 400% of the federal poverty level or have an IEP. 5,000 vouchers are reserved for each type of student, but if less than 5,000 are awarded the balance can be used for the other category. Voucher funds may be spent on private school tuition and fees, and other educational expenses. The voucher is equal in amount to the sum of the per-pupil averages of a variety of state education funding sources for the student's district.
